Click image to enlarge   The work of the Studio is to design products. Alternatively to provide advice and direction on clients own design projects all at Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) level. To put this into perspective there are over 60,000 designers in Great Britain but less than ten RDI's in product design. Britain has always been strong in innovative thinking and RDI's have consistently been the leaders in design in both their products and advanced philosophy. The Credentials link describes commercial and design success. Alan Tye is also a qualified architect which benefits the design of architectural components as well as architectural environments such as kitchens or workstations. Alan is guest professor in both eastern and western universities.

Click image to enlarge   The Tai Chi room is used for action research. For example, movement is required to use any and all products. This movement ought to be enhancing. This could be described as healthy, strong, natural, beneficial movement. As this is missing from both designers and ergonomists education it is also missing from conventional products which is why so many products are failing and degrading us.
Click image to enlarge   Whether a project is huge or small, a mixing bowl or whole environment, are not the most significant problems of design. It is the understanding of some other things missing from the conventional design process.
